Il Poggio del Sole B&B is an ancient stone farmhouse which dates back to the year 1800, completely renovated in character with the original style, Immersed in greenery in panoramic position in the mountains above Cortona at just 3km from Cortona where you can savour true Italian life. Il Poggio del Sole is composed of 2 apartments one of which is occupied by the owners, the "Italiani family". The other reserved for guests is very warm and comfortable and was once the ancient stalls and is characterised by terra cotta floors and a large stone arch which divides the living room, with open fireplace and the fully equipped kitchen which conserves the old sink in granite and the old manger which serves as a bench around the table. The apartment has been furnished with an eye for details with antique wrought iron beds in the 2 bedrooms and Tuscan style furniture. A corridor separates the bedrooms from the bathroom with shower. The gardens, terrace and pool are for exclusive use of guests, with an ancient wood oven where you can prepare your "meals al fresco" whilst admiring the magnificent panorama of the valley below and Lake Trasimeno. On request Maria Domenica will leave you a welcome pack for breakfast with simple genuine products, jam, and typical home made cakes.
